Capricorn girlboss reporting here: I love using earthy materials in my woo. For me, shit from the earth - like salt, like crystals - helps to really ground my intention-setting and boost the energy around everyday activities. Whether I'm using crystals for a tarot reading or tossing a few in my purse when I head out to face the day, crystals help orient my energy and ground me in my present.
Here's some Crystal 101 FAQ, as well as five of my favorites for girlboss use.
What can you use crystals for?
To assist in meditation
To spiritually cleanse and reenergize spaces and objects in your home (e.g., the bedroom, jewelry)
To cleanse and charge spiritual objects, like tarot decks
For healing (something we won't touch on, but this is an enormous branch of crystal use so it merits a mention)
And for tons of other reasons - whatever resonates with you <3
@@Crystals are one of the easiest ways to incorporate woo into your everyday life - and business.@@ Whether you put certain crystals in your clothing drawer to encourage clarity and energy, or whether you place bowls of crystals in your office to help you schedule and slay, crystals are tremendously versatile.
How do I cleanse and charge my crystals?
Crystals, like all other objects in our life, absorb energy. Even if a crystal's own vibration and/or energy use is specific, it can still get weighed down because, life. So, we cleanse crystals and then "charge" them to reenergize them. You can also program crystals with a specific intention (more on that later).
One of my favorite ways to cleanse crystals is to slowly run them under water. However, be sure to check if your crystals can be exposed to water -- some will disintegrate if exposed.
Other easy, inexpensive ways to cleanse and charge crystals:
- Place them in sunlight and/or moonlight. (Note that some crystals will fade with extended sunlight exposure.)
- Bury them in a bowl of rice, which will absorb negative energy
- You can also bury crystals in the earth, if you have access to a yard (particularly beneficial for grounding crystals, like obsidian or smoky quartz).
- Smoke cleansing
What is programming? How do I program my crystals?
"Programming" is the verb used to indicate when folks set an intention behind their crystal.
To program your crystals, simply state/meditate on your intention for the crystal. Seriously. Just focus and speak/think/write your intention for the crystal. Ignore the advice you read about needing no electronics in the house (lol, yeah right) or other such nonsense. You make your practice, and it doesn't need to be hard.
With all of that said, here are five crystals that are tremendously useful for girlbosses:
All purpose. Easily programmable. Can be used to cleanse business spaces (especially for product-based businesses for whom smoke cleansing or salt water sprays are a risky option).
Pro Tip: Charge your jewelry, tarot decks, and anything else you use for spiritual purposes with clear quartz.
One of the best stones for manifesting prosperity and abundance. Attracts happiness. Also, citrine does not accumulate negative energy, so it does not need to be cleansed. Place citrine near business items for help in attracting prosperity.
Pro Tip: Citrine is one of the most commonly "faked" crystals out there (aka, much of what is out there is actually heat-treated amethyst). Be sure to do research before buying this.
For grounding, protection, and peace of mind. Useful to help in times of worry and anxiety. Note that no crystal is a substitute for a security system.
Pro Tip: If your home, office, or other desk is feeling burdened? Use obsidian to soak up negative energy.
Also called “the luck stone.” Favored by gamblers and entrepreneurs (obvi). Associated with creativity, calming energy, clarity, and abundance.
Pro Tip: Carry aventurine in your purse or backpack to encourage luck and to open opportunities.
Associated with attracting romantic love, I think rose quartz is useful for business owners who are exceptionally hard on themselves. Rose quartz, perhaps more than anything, helps encourage self-love and self-acceptance.
Pro Tip: Put rose quartz underneath your bed when you're feeling particularly blue.
